transported home at the time of the early dismissal. If your
kindergarten child normally attends the afterschool program on
Thursdays, he may stay with us from the time of dismissal until 6:00
PM. If your child does not normally attend the after school
program on Thursdays and you need care on this day after the time of

SF In-Service
Day - December 12 - Xtreme Laser Storm
Families must sign-up in advance for any in-service day
you would like to attend. You will receive a sign-up email 2
weeks prior to the in-service day or you may click
here to sign-up now. (If you sign-up for the day,
you will be required to pay for the day, regardless of whether you
attend the day.)
Day: Monday, December 12
Time: We
are open from 7:00 AM-6:00 PM. Please be at South Fayette
Elementary School by 9:30 AM. We will
return about 3:00 PM.
Place:
South Fayette Elementary School
Cost: There is a $35 tuition charge per child for the full-day in-service
day. An additional charge of $19 per child will appear on
your statement to cover the cost of the field trip and
transportation. All children who attend EDS on this day
will be going on the field trip.
Dress:
Comfortable clothing and plain yellow EDS T-shirt (if your child does
not have one yet, we will give him one, and a $5 T-shirt charge
will appear on your statement)
Bring: Please
pack your child's lunch in a plastic bag (ziploc or grocery
bag). Children will not need backpacks but may bring
spending money.

SF Staff Development Delay Day -
December 19
December 19 will
be a staff development delay morning. If your child is
enrolled in the before school program on Mondays, we will be extending
the morning program on these days to accommodate the morning delay.
Therefore, the before school program will run from 7:00 AM until the
beginning of the school day at 11:00 AM. These delay mornings will
carry an extra $7 charge for the additional hours.
We regret that if
your child is not normally enrolled on Monday mornings, we will not be
able to add these staff delay days to your child's schedule as an
"extra morning" due to staffing constraints. If you
wish to add Monday mornings to your child's schedule on a permanent
basis, please call the office at 412 221-1980.

General Monthly Information
|

Snow Delays or Cancellations 
EDS will follow the snow
delay or cancellation decision made by each school district.
If
your district delays by 2 hours, the Before School Program will
open at 9:00 AM in your district.
If
your district delays by 2 hours, the K-Plus Program will follow
your district's modified kindergarten schedule. Therefore, we
will run both AM and PM K-Plus. (Beaver
K-Plus parents ONLY will need to
send a packed lunch with their child on
Snow Delay Days.)
If your district cancels school, EDS
will be closed on this day in your district. (A credit for this
day will appear on your next statement.)

Please remember to call your EDS school phone number
listed below if your child is ill and does not attend school on a day
we are expecting your child at the program. Please also remember to call
us if your child becomes ill during the school day and goes home
early. Thank you!

Please remember to send coats, hats, mittens, etc
with your children as the weather gets colder outside. We try to
go outside on all days where the temperature is above 32 degrees
for a little fresh air. Thank you!

Our voice mail
answers 24 hours a day. If we do not receive notice that your
child will be absent on an afternoon that he or she is scheduled to
attend, you will be charged a $10 no call fee. Please
program your cell phone with your child's EDS location phone number
listed above so you will always have it with you. Please
also program our administrative office phone (412 221-2980) so that you
may reach us there between 9 AM and 5 PM in case of
questions. Thank you!
We cannot allow
children to go anywhere but to the program if they are scheduled to be with
us and we have not been notified by a parent or authorized
guardian. We must enforce this policy for the safety of all the
children.
